Michael Vick

After maiming, torturing, and murdering hundreds of dogs, why we are allowing this monster to play in NFL again? What kind of message are we sending out to our youth by allowing him to pick up his lucrative career without even having served one day for what he did to those dogs? I think that we need to, as a country, stand up and tell the people in charge that this is wrong. This is totally about money, and not social and moral responsibility. Lets get together and get this stopped!!!

Well, let us just say that the miscarriage of justice was done when he was allowed to plea to charges of Federal Racketeering only. This was insane from the beginning, it was wrong, it was completely abusive of the criminal justice system and a complete injustice and miscarriage of justice to the innocent defenseless beings of this case. The NFL has reinstated this man with full knowledge that justice was not carried out, and he served not one hour in repayment to humanity of this brutal and heinous crime. They embraced his return, while knowing they had banned NFL players from the league for even lesser crimes incomparable in nature to Vicks horrific acts. This sends a message to our youth that yes, we hold animals lives with no regard, we are content to do with them what we please, if you are a mediocre sports star we will give you a million dollar job, regardless. All for the good of man, in giving him a second chance. Except, that I don't see ordinary criminals and convicts granted such freedoms, and opportunity, with absolutely no rehabilitation. How much can one devote to rehabilitation efforts while out on a football field earning his millions?

I agree 100%
He has had chance after chance to do right with the NFL while the whole time he was torturing dogs. Come on NFL... You can't be real about this creep!

My best friend was in a horrendous auto accident. A man had a heart attack and crossed lanes and the median in to her path. The head-on collision was devastating to both drivers. The man died. My friend had 2 glasses of wine, earlier over the period of several hours. Because she told the officers at the scene this, she was charged with vehicular manslaughter. She had a spotless record...not even a parking ticket and she got FIVE years. Everyone, including the officers, KNEW she had not caused the accident. Now, out of prison but still considered a felon, she cannot even get a VOLUNTEER job at our local humane society to do her community service hours. Where is her second chance????

AND at this point in the juncture, unfortunately the only way to accomplish the goal, that it is not going to be tolerated, his acceptance back into society after performing these sociopathic acts, IS by continuing to focus on it. It IS having an impact, more people are becoming involved, word is out about the real deal on the "time served" we have raised awareness now, and we just have to keep pressing forward with the campaign of awareness. For the last few weeks it seemed as if half of America was unaware of the real plea agreement and what actually transpired in justice being served. NOW that we are getting everyone on the same page in regards to the TRUTH, it WILL be harder for his PR to continue to build on his fandome, when they are going to be trying to recover from this latest upset in public opinion and change as the real facts have come to light.

Sweets, that is exactly right. Money buys many things, and for the unfortunate Joe on the street if they don't have it, they are going to get nailed, unfortunately, and it IS a SHAME. Personally for me, I think it should be against the law to be able to have plea agreements in violent, heinous, deliberate acts of violence on defenseless beings.
And may this be another thing learned in regards to this case. It needs changed.

Yes, that is extremely sad regarding your friend, and so typical, and you hear of so many other stories such as hers. It is wrong, and people may say, well that's just the way it is. Except, that it does not have to be. We vote these laws into place. Informed citizens become involved citizens. We need to become INFORMED and INVOLVED in order for things to change.
Which is what we are seeing now, more people are aware of the real truth and information in regards to this case, they see the injustice, so we have more people sitting up and listening now. This is how changes are made. This is the force behind the movement of change.

Well let me just start my comment "SHAME ON THE NFL" they are a disgrace!!!!!!!! with so many outstanding youg men out there who are wanting to play ball and are talented and they give a 2nd chance to a MONSTER who tortured innocent defenseless animals...It is totally unacceptable!!!! He should not get a 2nd chance the only reason he stopped was that he got caught!!!!!! The NFL was ashamed that Janet Jackson lost her top at the Superbowl....The NFL disgusts me that a woman losing her top is a Huge Shame and then they go and rehire a killer of animals to represent the Philadelphia Eagles. If I was a Philly Fan I could never see myself rooting for a Monster who killed innocent dogs......The NFL IS A DISGRACE!!!

The only thing that MIGHT be worse than Vick are his fans! They need to be held accountable for their stupidity! Seriously, these people are warped!

Too bad this maggot couldn't play football.

It is simple. Do not support the NFL. Money talks! The NFL has supported many criminal acts. For example hit and run, DWI and spousel abuse.

Money talks...if Michael Vick would've been Joe Schmoe he'd still be in jail, not given a second chance to make millions of dollars! I agree that the NFL should take a stance on some of the crime that is going on around the NFL! It does send a terrible message to our young people when someone who so cruely destroyed animals' lives walks free after a minor slap on the hand, then even gets to go back to playing football. Where's the punishment for Vick, some cushy prison sentence isn't tough enough for such cruelty! Now he's back in football, what's next? Going back to dog-fighting?
